High Technology Filtration

Worldwide Performance

PROVEN PERFORMANCE AND SAFETY ON ALL CONTINENTS

Migration test according to FILTRAIR Test Norm

Current state-of-the-art surface finishing applications call for super fine air filtration of the air supply side of paint spray plants and down draft paint booths. The most important criterion in this technology is to prevent paint damaging particles 15 microns and larger from migrating downstream after collection, due to vibration in the system.
The usual air conditioning industry test methods cannot adequately test and evaluate such performance requirements, and will group air filters by arrestance or dust spot efficiency without separating out those that do not perform to the 15 micron and larger migration test criteria.
FILTRAIR is continually testing its super fine filtration medium for surface finishing applications according to the FILTRAIR Test Norm under vibrating conditions with clean air side rated and counted particles larger than 15 microns to ensure performance and safety in the latest high-tech engineered applications.
The FILTRAIR Test Norm migration test uses a predetermined dust consisting of non-adhesive, free running aluminum oxide particles, which closely match the particle sizes that cause visible paint damage (15-40 microns).
Investigations in practice and in research laboratories have proven over the years that an air filter medium which collects this type of fused aluminum oxide dust, without unloading under vibration, will fulfill the efficiency requirements for today's ever more demanding surface finishing standards.
The more efficiently these adhesive properties are built into each fiber of the FILTRAIR CC-600 G air filter medium, the fewer particles can be found behind the filter and the longer the life of the filter will turn out to be.
For measuring purposes more than 300,000 particles per M3 are fed into the intake air stream during the FILTRAIR Test Norm Vibration Test. Particle concentrations evident in real-life air entry situations are approximately 1,000 times smaller for similarly adhering, equally penetrating dust particles, as carried out in this test.
The dust composition of this fused aluminum oxide test dust is, by weight:

60-80%
15-25 microns
99.5%
<35 microns
2.0%
<10 microns

All particles of 15 microns and larger are counted on the clean air side of the FILTRAIR CC-600 G medium, resulting in a migration "R" test classification.
FILTRAIR CC-600 G performs exclusively in test class R0, showing absolutely no passing, even under heavy vibration circumstances, of paint damaging particles 15 microns and larger.
